We approached this project with the goal of offering the user a rich interactive experience along with practical functions to be tied into betfairs existing platform. Using microsofts later technology we were able to create a vista gadget and a windows presentation foundation (wpf) application.
The gadget enabled users to place mystery bets for no money and follow there bets to see if they won. In addition to a mystery bet functionality, the gadget can also display your current matched and unmatched bets (up to 50 bets), enabling you to track your bets getting matched across all markets without needing to log into the main betfair.com site. You can customise the listing to see fully or partially matched bets ordered by either stake amount, time of bet or the percentage of the bet which has been matched.
Simple Soccer offers a neat way to bet on multiple English Premier league soccer matches without the complexities of odds. This is done by presenting the home team, away team and draw as graphics that can be clicked on to make a selection. Forthcoming Premiership fixtures for which markets exist are displayed enabling a consolidated view of which teams are playing and when. The project was created using xaml, microsofts latest code base for application design.
